Rob still bathes in the kudos of brewing the 5.0% Dark Star bitter, former Champion Beer of Britain and later voted Champion of Champions by CAMRA.

Mark started his brewing career in the living room of his student flat in between hosting for hordes of punk rock musicians - from around the World - who were passing through or passing out.
After graduating from his fine art degree with flying colours ( artists' joke! ) he was then commissioned by the DSS, not to paint, but to rest while waiting for Charles Saachi to discover him.
However, it was in the Evening Star where he was converted to the appreciation of an even finer art: the late hopping of ales. Now, as head brewer, those early anarchistic and aesthetic influences are still tasted in the beers.

No one is sure whether it was blind faith in Dark Star beers or simply using his executive privilege to play guitar in Dark Star pubs that secures Peter's continued support for the growing business.
Paul is a free-loader; admits knowing nothing about brewing beers. Universally loathed for once being a management consultant and admitting to it. Coincidentally, in the mid 1990's, while Dark Star was developing marvellous hoppy beers, Paul was busy making 2 Dogs Lemonade, the first alcopop. No defence - bang to rights!
