This year the festival will be sponsored by mid Sussex based brewer, Dark Star. Although best known for its prize winning ales, the brewery also attracts quite an interest from live music enthusiasts. (The brewery name itself is borrowed from '60s band The Grateful Dead). Two of Dark Star's pubs, The Evening Star In Brighton and The Duke of Wellington in Shoreham are both well known for supporting live music especially original new work.
Jon Wood, Co-organiser of the festival said: "Lewes Folk Rock Festival is delighted with the support from Dark Star for 2006. The music policy of the Evening Star and that of the festival couldn't be more in tune, so to speak. There is a growing number of people looking for authenticity, whether that's in their taste in music or real ale!"
