Everything you need to know ahead of Dark Star 7 with RunBrighton

By James | 08/05/19

With under a week to go, we've put together out round-up of everything you need to know before ‘Dark Star 7 with RunBrighton’…at least the stuff we’ve thought of.

Date: May 11th, 2019

Address: Dark Star Brewery, Star Road, Star Ind Estate, Partridge Green, West Sussex, RH13 8RA

Timings: Site opens at midday, run starts at 13:30 and the site closes at 17:30.

Registration: On arrival (please give yourself plenty of time), go to the desk at the gate, register and collect your instructions and wristbands, which you’ll exchange later for food and drink.

Baggage Area: We have allocated an area where you can leave your bags, but they will be left at your own risk.

The Run / Jog / walk: It’s approximately 7k (clue in the name). The route will be marshalled and there will be a water stop at half-way. There will also be water available at the brewery before and after to fill your bottles. The run is pretty flat, overall, but goes across a field where the surface is uneven, so care should be taken.

Site: There’s lots of free parking on the estate near the brewery. Dogs are allowed in the yard, but sadly not in the brewery itself.

Run Rules & Guidelines: Please familiarise yourself with the Terms and Conditions document which can be viewed here.

What is Included: As a reminder of what is included in your entry fee, please see the Dark Star 7 page on the website. All runners will receive a commemorative Dark Star 7 finishers' beer glass upon leaving the event (as well as a free drink of course!).

Drink: A range of Dark Star Beers, wine and soft drinks will be available to buy.

Food: The food is provided by the wonderful folks at Garlic Wood Farm and they’ll have Vegetarian, Vegan and even meat options available. Your entry includes a choice of one main dish, accompanied by a selection of sides listed below. All food will be served in biodegradable trays with a birch fork and napkin.

Main dishes (choose one):
Pulled Pork bap with Apple Sauce
Asian style Vegan burger with salad and vegan mayo

Sides:
Lemon and dill new potato salad
Honey and chipotle coleslaw
Roasted vegetable couscous

Music: We’ll be welcoming the amazing Dirty Spoons, Dave Beckett and the Wellington Wailers.

Payments:  Additional food can be bought using cash at the food stall. Beers, wines and soft drinks can be bought using tokens that are purchased at the front gate. Unused tokens will be turned back into cash as you leave.

WiFi: Dark Star Guest and password is BrewingCo

Face Painting: We’ll have a face painter who will, free of charge, transform you into your favourite superhero or maybe a dinosaur. Kids can also use this service!

RunBrighton: Please do visit the RunBrighton stand and find out about their Summer 2019 Membership.

Old/Unwanted Running Kit: Please bring along any unwanted running clothing. RunBrighton is partnered with ReRun, co-founded by Team GB 24hr Ultra runner & world record holder Dan Lawson, to recycle & upcycle pre-loved running kit. You might even wish to purchase a unique RunBrighton ReRun upcycled tee shirt.

Thanks to: Ben Leathers of Homelands Equestrian for allowing us to traipse over his land, David Hill (E3 Events) for agreeing to come back and compere the event again and, of course, all the amazing volunteers.
